Albert Sagala
Albert Sagala is Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at Institut Teknologi Del, Indonesia. That appointment is separate from his doctoral study.
PhD Candidate, Engineering Physics, Institut Teknologi Bandung.
The research is concerned with how sensing, computation, and actuation work together: intelligent control and cyber-physical systems; artificial intelligence for precision agriculture; the Internet of Things and wireless sensor networks; and instrumentation, automation, and edge computing.
Agricultural experiments associated with this work are presented on the Toba Smart Farming research platform.

Artificial Intelligence for Precision Agriculture
Learning methods applied to cultivation decisions inside instrumented growing environments, including sequential climate policy studied under agronomic constraints.

Internet of Things and Wireless Sensor Networks
Distributed sensing and low-power wireless networks for environmental and operational measurements that must remain tied to where they were taken.

Instrumentation, Automation, and Edge Computing
Sensors, actuators, and on-site computation used to measure a process and close the loop without treating the cloud as the only place a decision can be made.
